Grease Proof Paper

PSAP-010 is a product that has been developed in Colombia by our company, which is manufactured synthetically by mixing different polymers and minerals, giving excellent properties that allow it to perfectly replace waxed paper between others with better results, thanks to its very low memory it is ideal for manual or automatic packaging.

This paper was the winner of the 2004 Dupont Award for invention and innovation.

Additionally, the paper comes in rolls, bags, sheets and others and may be printed. We have the entire infrastructure to develop our customers flexographic printing service from design to finished product.

The synthetic paper is a sheet of polymers obtained by extrusion process, resulting in the appearance of an ordinary sheet of paper with a nice feel to the touch and can be manufactured in the following ranges

Ecology

This paper is made for it to be fully recyclable or biodegradable (oxo-biodegradation process) according to customer request.

In our paper manufacturing wood pulp is not used, preventing deforestation, largely contributing to the conservation of the environment.

Oxobiodegradability
Oxobiodegradability

The term OXO-biodegradable is due to the composition or characteristics of some polymers that through the addition of chemicals undergo a rapid oxidative degradation faster than in other environmental conditions.

What makes a polymer Oxo-Biodegradable is that the hydrocarbon chains oxidize in the environment and then the product is degraded by microorganisms.

This oxidation occurs depending on the conditions to which the polymers are being exposed: temperatures, UV radiation and mechanical stress, but necessarily in the presence of oxygen. To achieve this oxidation is necessary to add one or more varieties of additives which activate and accelerate the process. These additives are called Oxo-biodegradable.

Given the need of today's world of environmental conservation it becomes essential for any product - raw material to be used in a process that can be recyclable and / or biodegradable. Polymers do not escape this requirement and that is why today we have different techniques that make this process easier:

PHOTODEGRADATION - Irreversible loss of physical and mechanical properties of polymers due to sunlight

CHEMICAL DEGRADATION - Structural modification of polymers by exposure to light, temperature in the presence or absence of oxygen, solvents, radiation and microorganisms

BIODEGRADATION - Polymers designed to undergo a significant change in its chemical structure under specific environmental conditions

Main Uses
Main Uses

Used mainly like replacement for the waxed paper and in lamination with different products.

• Fast food wrap (Hamburgers, sandwiches, wraps, tacos etc)

• Placemats (it replaces disposable plates for fast food), for pizza

• Bags for packing: French Fries, Onion rings, sandwiches

• Separating (slides) cold meats and/or cheeses

• Wrapping of margarines, butter, or  greasy products

• Candy wrap

• Liner for packing of chocolate bars

• Protection for sticky products (previous application of silicone which anchors very well since it supports the curing process temperature  without problems for its high thermal coefficient)

Paper for applying silicone
Paper for applying silicone

There are packages and paper sheets that need to be non-stick, for which the company developed a synthetic paper that allows the application and subsequent cure of the silicone resulting in the excellent anchorage on the paper.

This was achieved due to the increase of the temperature coefficient of the paper, that is, the ability of the film to support more temperature without undergoing any deformation.
